SWIMMING WITH THE DOLPHINS

Hello!

Have you ever dreamt of swimming freely with dolphins?… Well my dream came true during my last vacations to the British Virgin Islands in the Caribbean!  YES, I DID IT!
It was an amazing experience, one that I will never forget and will cherrish for a lifetime.

On my last stop at Tortola Island, there is a place where you can do this, I believe it’s called Dolphin Discovery; it’s located on the south of the island.

My encounter had plenty of face to face action with the dolphins; from softly petting their tummys to having a water fight with them and from riding on the dolphin’s belly holding on to his fins to riding a “boogie-board” propelled by dolphins from my feet.

I was so amazed how smart dolphins can be; how fast they understand the hand signals from the trainers to knowing where their place is with each signal or whistle.

This is definitely a MUST DO in your life goals, it’s well worth it! Trust me!
Here are some facts about dolphins:
Dolphins are well known for their agility and playful behavior, making them a favorite of wildlife watchers. Many species will leap out of the water, spy-hop (rise vertically out of the water to view their surroundings) and follow ships, often synchronizing their movements with one another. Scientists believe that dolphins conserve energy by swimming alongside ships, a practice known as bow-riding.
Dolphins live in social groups of five to several hundred. They use echolocation to find prey and often hunt together by surrounding a school of fish, trapping them and taking turns swimming through the school and catching fish. Dolphins will also follow seabirds, other whales and fishing boats to feed opportunistically on the fish they scare up or discard.
So now, enjoy these pics, the ones that will last in my mind for a lifetime!
